This part of the beach, close by the Scheveningen harbour, is very popular amongst surfers and water sport fans. No hurdles of tourists here. People seem to be a bit more relaxed and easy going. Combine a day at the beach with a visit to the harbour.
How to reach the harbour beach?
This part of the beach can be found on the Northern side of the beach. If you do not mind walking for 5 minutes to the beach you can park your car at many places for free at the harbour. Along the beach there are also several parking places but seem to get quite fast full.
Who visits this beach?
The Scheveningen harbour beach has the widest part of the beach. At this part of the beach you will find most surfers and other watersport fans. Because of the good waves here it is also known as the surfing paradise of the Dutch coast.
What is there all to do?
During the summer months there is the hommerson beach volleyball stadium where every day competitions take place. It is also possible to take surfing classes at one of the surf schools located right on the beach. A stroll over the water breakers (next to beach club Wij) will give you an amazing view of the entire beach.
